Chinese Medicine Concepts in Craniosacral Contacts

An Integrative Four-Module Training

This multi-module course explores the meeting place of Chinese medicine and craniosacral therapy, where channels and vessels intersect with membranes, bones, and vascular fields. Drawing from embryology, anatomy, palpation, and classical Chinese maps, participants will deepen their understanding of how the three treasures, Jing / Qi / Blood, form co-create the human experience.

Each module stands alone as a 2-day intensive, while together they form a comprehensive journey through the body’s midline, diaphragms, keystones, and spiral flows.

Module 1 – Du and the Dura

Explore the Du Mai (Governing Vessel) alongside the dural membranes as continuous midline structures. From embryologic origins to clinical palpation, we investigate how the Nei Jing Tu, dural fulcrums, and extraordinary vessels map onto one another. Practice includes Nei Dan meditations and craniosacral contacts orienting to midline suspension.

Module 2 – Transverse Diaphragms & Vertical Bridges

Module 3 – The Psycho-Somatic-Spiritual Sphenoid

Module 4 – The Helical Heart

We will be offering Module 2-4 in Ashland in 2028.

Learning Outcomes

Across these four modules, participants will:

  • Develop a deeper anatomical and embryological understanding of key craniosacral structures.
  • Relate extraordinary vessels and primary channels to palpable membranes, bones, and vascular fields.
  • Gain clinical tools for integrating Chinese medicine concepts into craniosacral contacts.
  • Explore psychosomatic and spiritual dimensions of the midline, diaphragms, sphenoid, and heart.
